Workshops: Biography

Lo-Fi Drawn Animation

This workshop focused on hand drawn animation, looking at the different techniques and mechanics behind creating hand drawn moving image. Although I don't plan to use this skill in my final product, I  found the workshop useful in exploring the movement of my character. Through further investigation of body language, posture and mannerisms I was able to get a wider sense of who my character is in her world.

Storytelling for comics and graphic novels

This workshop explored different techniques used in biographical graphic novels and comics, exploring the use of frames, composition, narrative, voice and perspective. This was the most useful workshop for me as I plan to create my final piece in a comic style layout.

Paper Sculpture 3D illustration

This workshop covered basic techniques of paper sculpture and an introduction to how this can be introduced to book making and set design. I found it particularly useful in thinking about the composition that my final piece will take i.e. a book with 3D effects.
